Sudha Raghuram is the artistic director of Shivalaya School of Dance based in Montgomery. She is the board member of the Alabama Dance Council and has received several grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts. In 2019, she received the Alabama Folk Heritage Award. She actively organizes dance events every year, supported by the Arts Council. Several of Sudha’s students have performed their Arangetram or dance debut. She and her students participate in several multicultural events throughout the year. To Sudha, dance is a powerful way to enrich the experience, educate, engage the audience, and celebrate diversity.
