Young talented Madhulita Mohapatra has carved a niche as one of the leading Odissi exponents in south India. A disciple of Guru Shri Gangadhar Pradhan, Guru Smt. Aruna Mohanty & Guru Shri Pabitra Kumar Pradhan, she is admired & applauded by the connoisseurs & critics alike, for her profound artistry and her innate abhinaya quality. A graded artiste of Doordarshan & an empaneled artiste of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), she is the recipient of the prestigious IIDF 2017 award & BCKA Yuva Kala Pratibha award. Madhulita Mohapatra has performed at several prestigious events across the country & overseas. She has received her Nrutya Acharya from Odisha Dance Academy, Bhubaneswar, Nrutya Shastri from Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi and Nrutya Bhaskar from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. She is selflessly devoted to the promotion & popularisation of Odissi in South India dance through her institution, Nrityantar, by performing, teaching and nurturing finest talents.

Born at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, Odisha in the year 1978, she started her Sambalpuri folk dance and Odissi in childhood. She began her initial Odissi training under Guru Krushna Chandra Sahoo at Kalahandi Kala Kendra, Bhawanipatna. Since then she has been undergoing formal and professional training under many eminent gurus. Her dedication and an extreme thirst for mastering the art of Odissi took her to Odisha Dance Academy at Bhubaneswar in 1999 under the guidance of Padmashri Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. Under the able tutelage of Guru Pabitra Kumar Pradhan she has successfully imbibed the purity and grace of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra’s style. Inspiring guidance of Guru Aruna Mohanty has infused in her a remarkable sense of artistry and discipline. She has been performing Odissi on stage across the country since childhood.
